Fundraising.

We believe fundraising should be fun! We also want to make sure the fundraising process is as easy as possible for any individual or group kind enough to offer us their help.

With this in mind we have registered Jay’s Aim with the UK’s two largest online fundraising platforms, JustGiving and Virgin Money Giving. Either site will allow you to set up a fundraising page quickly and with minimum fuss, and all money raised in this way will be paid directly to Jay’s Aim.

Individual Fundraisers.

For individuals, the fundraising choices are endless! Fundraisers who take on sponsored challenges outside their ‘comfort zone’, pushing the limits of their normal capabilities, seem particularly successful at eliciting donations from the public, who generally recognise the effort involved.

Our social media platforms have details of activities and events that we have sourced from event organisers, meaning entry is sometimes subsidised or even completely free. You can also set up your own, unique challenge, via JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving. So what’s stopping you? If you have always fancied running a marathon, skydiving or attempting to set a silly world record, now’s the time to give it a go!

Please note: we strongly recommend that all fundraisers attend a cardiac screening session or request an electrocardiogram (ECG) from their doctor before partaking in sports-based fundraising activities.

Places of Education - Students.

Schools and colleges are a great place to fundraise, as fellow students and teaching staff are effectively a captive audience! Students are often looking for things to do at break and lunch times, providing windows of opportunity for fundraising events such as a tuck shop or cake sale. Other ideas could include a musical show, talent contest or sports event, such as a football tournament, that people would pay a small fee to attend or enter. Sponsoring can also be a good way to raise money (for example spending the day without speaking, or cutting long hair) – just don't forget to check any fundraising ideas with a teacher first.

Places of Education - Teachers.

By putting on an event or organising a non-uniform day, teachers can raise money for Jay’s Aim while also raising awareness of heart conditions in the young. We would love to be considered as a charitable beneficiary of whole-school concerts, sports events or non-uniform days, and we’re always happy to provide information to parents and stakeholders about our work (if wished, we can also be present at fundraising events in order to explain our objectives).

Sports Clubs.

As a charity, Jay’s Aim has a close relationship with sport, and we really appreciate the help sports clubs can give. Some clubs (e.g. running clubs) particularly lend themselves to fundraising via sponsored events, and we can also provide free branded t-shirts to those taking part, so that awareness of Jay’s Aim increases alongside funds being raised.

In addition, youth sports teams can support us in the community by taking part in activities such as car washes, village fêtes or bag-packs at the local supermarket, while senior teams can raise funds through end-of-season ticketed dinner and dances, charity day events or whole-team challenges.
